Greetings geeklings!
I will soon finish compiling data from the Geek Girl Survey I announced last August! Thanks to everyone who answered my call or shared it! I have been swamped with emails from enthusiastic geek girls of all ages, and I am delighted to have obtained a lot more data than I originally expected. So many people made Portal references that I’m considering creating a new slogan for this blog: something like ”For science”. It’s a work in progress.
If you are just learning about the survey and want to take part in it, I’m sorry to say that I am not accepting more informants at the moment. I may need to proceed to additional rounds of data collection, however, so be on the lookout. Here are additional ways you can contribute to the research project:
- If you blog, by writing about your geekiness and your experiences as a geek girl in geek culture and sharing the link to your post in the comment threads;
- Do you know any geek girl pioneers? Let me know who they are and how they contribute to geekdom in the comments;
- Are you part of group of geek girls? Do you run a blog, a fanclub, or any other group you think is noteworthy for geek girls?
I look forward to sharing data from this research project with TGA readers!
